Oakmont High School

The Oakmont HS Mathematics Department seeks to provide an excellent mathematics education for all students.  We work together with our mathematics standards to develop units of study and lessons that are challenging and meaningful.

The area of mathematics has so many connections to everyday life and other subjects.  Math is often mistaken as just a subject with various formulas and procedures.  Mathematics also is a subject built on patterns.  Many areas of mathematics were developed due to its connections to areas of the sciences.

We provide an environment for students to develop their problem solving, communication, and reasoning skills.  The mathematics department is committed to developing critical thinkers and problem solvers.
